Flats Facts: 6 things you didn’t know about Tijuana Flats

If you’re a dedicated Flathead, you probably know more about Tijuana Flats than we even know about ourselves. But if you’re newbie, you’ve come to the right place. Our T Flats team has gathered a list of 6 Flats Facts—the things you probably already know about us, but we’re going to tell you again anyway. Grab some churros, get comfy, and read on!

1. There is no problem a burrito can’t solve.

If you’re anything like us, you’re totally obsessed with burritos. Last year alone, Tijuana Flats sold a whopping 2,377,990 burritos! Now that’s something to taco ‘bout. How many burritos do you think you ate last year? Let us know in the comments.

2. Movin’ on up!

Did you know that 40% of our management started as hourly employees?—and that’s not even including our Support Center! It just goes to show how much we care about our employees. We focus on embracing the strange and unexplained and believe it’s not just what you do, it’s who you are.

3. We’re nacho average Tex-Mex stop.

If you’ve stepped foot in one of our restaurants, you may have noticed some rather whimsical artwork. Each Tijuana Flats restaurant has one-of-a-kind, hand-painted murals—you won’t find two of the same murals at any location. Friendly reminder: don’t stare at the murals too hard, you might get sucked in. Speaking of murals, we’re in the final round of Mural Madness: a bracket style competition for fans to pick their favorite in-store artwork. Stay tuned to our Facebook page to find out the winner!

4. Keepin’ it fresh.

Go ahead get fresh with us. We might be a “fast-casual” restaurant but we take our good eats seriously. You’ll never find a freezer, a can, or a microwave at any of our locations. We show up early to make our delicious guacamole from scratch EVERY morning! Guac about dedication…get it?…guac like talk…

5. Learn our language.

J-O-L-T-S! What does that spell? JOLTS! What the heck does that mean? If you’ve ever heard any Tijuana Flats employee say this, don’t be alarmed (we aren’t talkin’ smack). It stands for Jalapeños, Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Sour Cream.

6. We look up to you.

Don’t break your neck while doing it, but take a look up at the ceiling next time you stop by Tijuana Flats. You’ll see some rad ceiling tiles painted by our very favorite people—our customers! If you’ve got some painting skills, and want your art on display at your go-to location, all you’ve got to do is ask! We provide the tile, you provide the style.

So there you have it! Next time you’re on an awkward first date at T Flats, you can bring up one of these facts to win your date over…or not. Let us know in the comments what other blogs you’d like to see us do!

Until next time, farewell Flatheads!
