Tijuana Flats employees get much more than just a paycheck and fun working atmosphere.? The company strives to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth for its employees as often as possible.
Each year, the company asks General Managers to submit the employee(s) they feel would be a great candidate to win the Tijuana Flats Leadership Development Scholarship.? This year is the seventh year Tijuana Flats has provided deserving employees a $3,000 scholarship to be used toward college expenses. This is the fourth time that Tijuana Flats has awarded three scholarship recipients in one year.
This year?s winners are:
- Ashleigh Hagan, a Front-of-the-House Trainer from Sunrise Fla.
- Chrysta Bayliss, a Field Marketing Coordinator from Orlando Fla.
- Carrie Mucha, a Front-of-the-House employee and Trainer from Winter Springs, Fla.
Ashleigh is a senior at Florida Atlantic University and plans to graduate in 2012 with a degree in Sociology. ?She often travels to train employees at newly opened restaurants. Ashley was nominated because of her great attitude and genuine approach to customer service, both of which are infectious to other employees.
Having worked for Tijuana Flats for more than three years, Chrysta is in her final year at UCF, and plans to graduate with a degree in Marketing and Sports Business Management. Chrysta?s professional dedication, day in and day out, along with her commitment to teamwork earned her a nomination.
Carrie has also been working for Tijuana Flats for three years. She is beginning her final year at UCF where she is studying Psychology. Carrie was nominated because she embodies the Tijuana Flats brand and lifestyle.? She takes the time needed to get to know guests, and they come back over and over because of it.

In order to receive the Tijuana Flats Leadership Development Scholarship, employees must have a minimum of one-year employment with the company and be enrolled full or part-time in a state or community college.? In addition, nominees must be active in their school and community, demonstrate a solid work ethic and strong leadership skills, and possess the attitude and passion that furthers the Tijuana Flats mission.
