About the Tijuana Flats Just in Queso Foundation® & Charitable Initiatives
Tijuana Flats’ Just in Queso Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit foundation, which provides aid to individuals, communities and organizations in need. With the Just in Queso Foundation, Tijuana Flats is able to have support funds waiting “just in case” a tragedy strikes and people are left in need, including everything from rebuilding areas devastated by natural disasters to providing monetary support for other non-profit charities, families and individuals when they need it most.
The Just in Queso Foundation provides financial support primarily through the sale of the Just in Queso charity hot sauce, as well as the restaurant’s special-edition holiday “Smack My Ass and Call Me Santa” hot sauce and Just in Queso wine. All proceeds from the sale of each $5.00 bottle of hot sauce add to the foundation for times of need. One hundred percent of the proceeds are returned to the community nationwide. In addition, the foundation accepts tax-deductible donations from other organizations and individuals.
About The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF)
BCRF was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $270 million to support research at medical institutions across the globe conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime. To date, nearly $28 million has been directed to stellar scientists at New England medical institutions, and in October 2009, $3.5 million was awarded to 24 distinguished researchers from prominent institutions in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Today, Boston and the New England area have the second largest concentration of BCRF grantees. BCRF perseveres in directing at least 85 cents of every dollar raised directly to research. And for the eighth consecutive year, BCRF received Charity Navigator’s highest rating, four stars, thus outperforming over 99.8% of the more than 5,400 evaluated charities, while the American Institute of Philanthropy has awarded BCRF its highest possible rating of A+. BCRF is the only breast cancer organization in the U.S. to receive these accolades. For more information, visit www.bcrfcure.org or call 1.866.FIND.A.CURE.
