— Tex-Mex Restaurant Awards its Annual Leadership Development Scholarship —
ORLANDO, Fla. (January 9, 2013) ? Tijuana Flats employees get much more than just a paycheck and fun working atmosphere. The company strives to provide personal and professional growth opportunities for its employees as often as possible.
Employees submit an application stating why they feel they would be a great candidate to win the Tijuana Flats Leadership Development Scholarship. This year is the eighth year Tijuana Flats has provided deserving employees a $2,500 scholarship to be used toward college expenses for one semester, and the sixth time that Tijuana Flats has awarded scholarships to three recipients in one year. This scholarship is offered twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.

- Amber Wall from Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Cody is a junior at Seminole State College and plans to graduate in Fall of 2014 with a degree in Nursing. He works full time at the Sand Lake Road location and is very active in the community, participating in 5k runs for charity and volunteering with Tijuana Flats? charity, the Just In Queso Foundation. Cody was selected because of his infectious attitude and desire to always do the best job he can, no matter the circumstances.
Nathalie is a Business Marketing major at the University of South Florida and intends to graduate in 2015.? She has worked at our Westchase location in Tampa for the past three years. Nathalie was selected because she is hardworking, dependable and always willing to work as a team to get the job done. She has volunteered at several Just In Queso events and her positive attitude and strong work ethic set a great example for everyone with whom she works.
Amber is a junior at Northwest Florida State College and plans to graduate in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education. Amber lives and breathes Tijuana Flats and exemplifies exactly what the brand?s core values are all about. Her standout personality is one-of-a-kind, and she takes the time to get to know her guests and is recognized all over town because of it. Amber was selected because she never gives up and makes the working environment a fun one that everyone wants to take part in.
In order to receive the Tijuana Flats Leadership Development Scholarship, employees must have a minimum of one year?s employment with the company and be enrolled full or part time in a state or community college. Nominees must also be active in their school and community, demonstrate a solid work ethic and strong leadership skills, and possess the attitude and passion that furthers the Tijuana Flats mission.
